Activeinspire "clickers" and Valentine stuff

We started a new math unit on Addition and LOVE using our "clickers".  We are using the "count with our fingers" strategy.

Reagan at the Valentine Dance in the gym.  We had so much fun.

My Valentine box.  I LOVE Olaf from Frozen.  This was perfect.  The kids loved it.  I gave them loom bracelets and a book coupon for a free book for Valentine's day.

Pete the Cat Valentine

We love Pete the Cat.   Pete the Cat Valentine's Day is Cool is one of the newest Pete books.  The kids loved listening to the book.  We then made our parents a Valentine's day card with Thumb prints.  You can find the adorable book at Amazon.com or Scholastic books.  Love it!

Iced in again in Georgia!

We have enjoyed our long "Winter break" along with ice and snow.  We have been out of school since Tuesday and received about an inch of ice then covered with snow.  A tree fell on the power lines and we were without power for 5 hrs.  The kids bundled up in front of the fire.  A few days later the kids ventured out and made another Olaf.  The teenager found icicles and he is impaled;))  Check for upcoming belated Valentine's day posts.  We missed Valentine's day due to ice storm.

Groundhog's Day

Meet our classroom Groundhogs.  We had a blast learning about groundhogs.  We LOVE watching the movie about their "bathroom" in their burrows.
We made our own groundhog puppets to listen to the story Gregory groundhog.

Our Georgia Groundhog, General Lee, did not see his shadow.  SOOOO-we it's an early Spring for Georgia.  Well, we hear snow is coming again!?!

Sight Word Games

During our "snow break", I have been making a few sight word games.  Check out the pictures and links to get your own for free.  The containers came from Wal-mart (aren't the cute) and the sight word game from Primary Junction(Thanks for the freebie!).  Sight Word Bottle Cap game.  I printed the "Bottle Caps" on card stock and placed a few "pop" cards inside.  My kiddos LOVE playing the Pop game.  I have also purchased a few of these games through the Scholastic Book club and Classroom Direct.

The Sight word Cootie Catcher game is included in the picture.  See the attachment below.

Toby was helping me
cut out the pieces to the games until "Cutest Puppies" came on TV.  He was barking at the dogs on the show.  HEEHEE.
(see my box of filing that I brought home to do.)  That is next on the agenda as well as Valentine Lesson Plans:)))
